All-Pro Football 2K8 is an American football game for seventh generation consoles. All-Pro Football 2K8 is the first football game to be published by 2K Sports since EA Sports purchased exclusive licenses to the intellectual properties of the NFL and NFLPA. John Elway, Barry Sanders, and Jerry Rice appear on the cover.All-pro Football 2k8 CheatsOverview[edit]All-pro Football 2k8 Ps4
All-Pro Football 2K8 features a fictional league called the ’All-Pro League’, or ’APL’. The APL consists of 24 teams that are grouped into six divisions of four teams each. The league runs a sixteen-game schedule and holds a championship game at the end of the playoffs, similar to the NFL.
Since the exclusivity deal the NFL has with EA only covers team licenses, 2K contracted the individual rights to over 240 retired NFL players to appear in the game.[1]
Even though there are no NFL teams in the game, the player can still create teams that resemble their NFL counterparts. A Create-a-Player feature allows the user to add in players that were not included in the roster.
Many of the teams in the game have one or more aspects that are veiled references to other elements of popular culture. While some link to sports teams past and present, others refer to TV, films, cars, comic books, American history and even Native American tradition.Reception[edit]Aggregate scoreAggregatorScorePS3Xbox 360Metacritic73/100[13]75/100[14]Review scoresPublicationScorePS3Xbox 360EGM6.67/10[2]6.67/10[2]Game Informer8/10[3]8/10[3]GameProN/A[4]GameSpot7.5/10[5]7.5/10[5]GameSpy[6][6]GameTrailers7.1/10[7]7.1/10[7]GameZone7.5/10[8]N/AIGN7.6/10[9]7.6/10[9]OXM (US)N/A8/10[10]PSM8/10[11]N/A411ManiaN/A8/10[12]
The Xbox 360 version received ’generally favorable reviews’, while the PlayStation 3 version received ’average’ reviews, according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[13][14] The gameplay of APF2K8 is considered better to the game play of Visual Concepts’ previous title, ESPN NFL 2K5. However, All-Pro Football 2K8 received criticism for the lack of a multi-season Franchise Mode, as seen in competing titles such as Madden NFL 08 and NCAA Football 08, given ESPN NFL 2K5 contained a similar Franchise Mode. [15]2K Sports and Visual Concepts chose to omit a franchise mode because since the game revolves around the use of legends from different eras, they felt there would be no rational way for the legends to develop or age.[9]O. J. Simpson controversy[edit]
In a court ruling, O. J. Simpson was ordered to pay the family of Ronald Goldman any money made for his appearance in the game. Simpson was found not guilty of murdering his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and Goldman in 1995, but was found legally responsible for their deaths by a civil court jury two years later.[16] During pre-production of the game, Simpson was a member of the in-game team called the New Jersey Assassins. Players on the team perform a throat slash as a touchdown celebration, and the animatronic mascot for the Assassins will make a slashing motion. Some pre-release videos showed Simpson performing these moves, implying to some that the designers were intentionally referencing the murders. However, in the retail version of the game, Simpson was moved to the Cyclones.See also[edit]References[edit]

Did you know there was a football game that was not Madden? The whole idea seems surprising. These sports games are synonymous with EA’s annual release of the Madden franchise. 2K Games sits at the bottom of the mountain with a bold ambition of giving people a choice in their football games in All-Pro Football 2K8.
EA owns an exclusive license for the NFL and NFLPA - the outcome of All-Pro Football would be interesting. This game would not be able to use the names of NFL teams nor any active NFL player. So if you can’t play as your favorite teams or be your favorite player - what’s the point? It’s easy to assume that it would be a very diluted version of Madden, but hold on there! The Underdog is Shooting for Glory!
All-Pro Football 2K8 is like the sports franchise nobody expects to get anywhere in a tournament, just to please their longtime fans. They could be pitted against the best team in the league, then suddenly, out of nowhere, the underdog is giving the big boy a run for their money. Who would have guessed a game with such average assets would actually be pretty good?
Considering that 2K does not have a license for NFL assets, this may have worked to their advantage. The developers had to focus on making a game with good gameplay. Additionally, a high level of customization allowing players to do whatever they want in team-building. Maybe they could recreate the New England Patriots? That’s up to the player, of course! There are even some retired classic NFL sportsmen available...
The visuals and animations look great and resemble real actions. The gameplay replicates the high octane action of a football game - and play structures work very well. Yes, you won’t be living the real battles in the NFL. However, the create-a-player and create-a-team mechanics deliver some of the most fun you could have with a sports game. It’s fantasy league on steroids. It’s a Hail MaryAll-pro Football 2k8 Xbox 360
All-Pro Football 2K8 is nothing revolutionary, considering most of the game is a refinement from its All-Pro Football 2K5 game. However, it is a refreshment from the typical overzealous Madden NFL games.
The encouragement of creativity and the polished football mechanics make this very enjoyable throughout.All-pro Football 2k8 Iso
The multiplayer and online play could certainly use some work, and there are instances such as the kicking system that is tough to use at times. There is much fun to be had, though, where you can create a football team called ’The John Elways’ - and then fill up every spot on the roster with a character named John Elway. The comical entertainment you can get from subtle elements of All-Pro Football 2K8 makes it a recommendation for a sports game, but don’t expect it to blow your mind.ProsAll-pro Football 2k8 Roster

*No NFL license - players will not be able to play their favorite teams
*Some systems such as kicking and tackling can be tough to use
*Feels like a slightly better version of 2K5 Overall rating: 7
